The Puente Project    

A state-wide, transfer-preparation program geared to help under-represented, motivated students by promoting transfer, student success, and community leadership.

Benefits to Students:

  • Personal guidance and orientation in becoming "transfer ready" for a university or other four-year college.

  • Guaranteed classes in English 060 F in the fall and English 100 F in the spring

  • Guaranteed Counseling classes for fall and spring semesters.

  • Mentoring by community professionals.

Additional benefits:

  • Field trips to colleges and universities

  • Field trips to cultural events

  • Guest speakers

  • Puente club activities

You are a good candidate for Puente if you:

  • Qualify for English 060 F

  • Want to be actively involved with school and community activities

  • Want to transfer to a four-year university

  • Would like to learn leadership skills
